Ideopathic thrombocytopenic purpura “clinical manifestaion, aetiology and treatment”

Ideopathic Thrombocytopenic purpura (ITP) is a hematological disorder characterized by isolated thrombocytopenia. The major causes of platelets consumption include immune thrombocytopenia, decreased bone marrow production and increased splenic sequestration. The onset may be acute or insidious, laboratory tests are useful at first visit. We present cases of ITP with clinical presentation, diagnosis and management.

Evaluation of the importance of age and gender in the patency of upper extremity arteriovenous fistula in chronic hemodialysis patients

Background: Arteriovenous fistula is the vascular access of the first choice in hemodialysis. Studies on the patency of the arteriovenous fistula and the influencing factors indicate that there is a high risk for access failure. The patency of arteriovenous fistulas is the primary determinant of the effectiveness of dialysis. Methods: Between April 2015 and July 2019, 161 patients (78 males, 83 females; mean age 61.1 years; range 35 to 75 years) who underwent AV fistula operation were retrospectively analyzed.

A step of the burnout: a study in health professionals in the unit of intensive therapy

Syndrome Burnout is a set of physical, psychological and behavioral symptoms resulting from sustained exposure to occupational stressors that lead negative consequences for the individual as a whole. Thus, this study aimed to analyze the prevalence of syndrome Burnout in health professionals in an Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of a Private Hospital in Vitória da Conquista, Bahia. To that end, 33 health professionals answered, between January and April 2019, the Maslach Burnout Inventory (MBI) questionnaire and a sociodemographic questionnaire, analyzed by correlation test.

Profile of elderly people enrolled in an interaction and leisure project in a capital city of the northeast of Brazil

This is a descriptive study with quantitative approach that describes the epidemiological and socioeconomic profile of elderly people enrolled in an interaction and leisure project in the city of Fortaleza-CE-Brazil. Data were collected from August to October 2013 using a modified instrument, based on an original instrument of the Brazil Old Age Schedule - BOAS. The results showed that of the 24 elderly people interviewed, the majority were women (87.5%), retired (89%), had a low purchasing power (83.3%), and low level of schooling (58.3%).

Knowledge of caregivers of elderly people about care with injuries caused by Pressure

Introduction: Aging is a biological process in which changes in the morphological and physiological characteristics of the organism occur over time, leading to natural and progressive transformations that especially affect the integumentary tissue of the elderly, as they articulate with the loss of muscle strength, reduction and to reduce the ability of the skin to act against external factors. Objective: to identify the knowledge of elderly caregivers about pressure injuries.

“Immunoglobulin - G subclass pattern among children with down`s syndrome

Down syndrome is the most common and best known chromosomal disorder. The possible relation between DS predisposition to recurrent respiratory infection and IgG subclasses have been infrequently addressed in children. All previous studies showed IgG1 and IgG3 were significantly raised among children with Down's syndrome whereas IgG2 and IgG4 were deficient.

Production of lignocellulosic ethanol from waste paper review on production technology

Waste paper can be found in cities of any country. The possibility of its reuse has moved several researchers to the development of new technologies with the capacity of transforming this waste into economically viable and environmentally sustainable energy that could reduce the use of fossil fuels. The production of ethanol from lignocellulosic biomass from paper waste has been identified as a promising technology with low processing costs and good yield.

Ergonomic risk assessment in food industry

The objective of this work was to discuss and explain issues related to ergonomic hazards in the food industry. Its development is justified by the high rate of occurrences of accidents at work in the sector. It is common to work in this area to deploy the safety of the product without emphasize the safety inherent in the processing. However, a safe food is the result of a series of steps that begins in the raw material and ends on the supermarket shelves, therefore, it is essential to look into this issue with a peripheral vision.

Brazilian scenery of adobe: analysis about production and research in the period 2008-2018

The use of adobe as an important technique for producing houses goes back to the earliest times and lasts until the present day. In Brazil, the technique was widely used during colonial period, going through several sceneries and tendencies, having its use declined from Industrial Revolution by the offer of new materials more competitive and apparently with more advantage.

Development of software for qualitative and comparative performance analysis between some data ordination algorithms

Ordination can be obtained by common means such as the logical reasoning of a human being, and also by computational means using algorithms to sort the desired data in a predefined order, the present research aims to show the results of the ordering of integers through algorithms, such as Insertionsort, Combsort, Quicksort and Mergesort, through an application developed in the Java programming language, where a performance comparison of each algorithm will be performed, showing not only its performance measured in milliseconds but also aspects fundamental as their operation and the ordering
