From symptom to diagnosis and treament: Environment and health perceived by the oncological patient

A study that aimed to get to know the aspects of an oncological patient’s health and its environment, in the time interval between the symptom, its diagnosis and its treatment. Field research, quali-qualitative approach, exploratory and longitudinal character. Thirty-four cancer patients took part in it. Participants were selected by accessibility. Data collection used semi-structured interview script. Based on the Content Analysis technique, four categories were created: (a) Symptom; (b) Diagnosis; (c) Environments and Relationships; and, (d) Coping Strategies.

Estudo prospectivo relacionados à disposição construtiva aplicadapara assegurar precisamente a possibilidade de incêndio em dispositivos de fornos de cozimento

Preflight search on the model of utility of constructive layout applied to ensure precisely the possibility of fire in furnace devices, a general analysis of the current state of technology R & D in this area of study was presented. The research methodologies were initially associated with the following keywords cook *, furnace *, control *, device *, in the ESPACENET database. The results show that the prospection of this provision is uniform and with a peak in the year 2013 and the main holder of patent documents on this utility model is China.

Moringa oleifera oil and polymer in mixtures with commercial polymers – comparing study

Composites may be obtained by the mixture of two materials, which one of them is a polymer, with the objective of produced a material with a specific characteristics. Vegetable oils (VO) are mixture with conventional polymer to improve biodegradation capacity without loss mechanical properties. VOs polymers are an alternative to conventional polymers on composites. Previous studies showed that the mixture of Moringa oleifera polymer (PMO) with polyethylene (PE) and biodegradable polymer (PB) producing a composite with high biodegrading capacity maintaining mechanical properties. Relationship between knowledge management practices and organizational learning

The paper focuses on the relationship between Knowledge Management (KM) and its practices in fulfilling the functional and operational expanse of Organizational Learning (OL). The paper finds that the effect of KM is irreplaceable. But it is not equivalent to promoting self-critical reflection, the questioning of everyday routines and patterns of action (expressed in leadership and milieu knowledge), which should lead to innovations and finally to the generation of strategic competitive advantages.

Experimental determination of the behavior of black cotton soil using different admixtures

Improving the engineering property of soils by the addition of admixtures is called the soil stabilization. Stabilization was carried by different methods. In the present study different admixtures were used with black cotton soil with varying percentages and carried out the proctor test. Here black cotton soil was mixed with 10%, 20% and 30% of admixtures such as cement, FA, GGBFS, SF Metakaolin and RHA. Proctor test was carried out to find the maximum dry density and optimum moisture content.

Influence of different proportions of organic manures on growth and yield of okra (abelmoschus esculentus L.)

A field experiment was conducted at research and demonstration block of Research Institute on Organic Farming, UAS, GKVK, Bengaluru during 2016 and 2017 to study the effect of different proportions of organic manures viz., compost, vermicompost and poultry manure on growth and yield of okra. The experiment was laid out in Randomised Completely Block Design. There were twelve treatments consisted with different proportions of organic manures and these were replicated thrice.

Microscopic study on some of the parasites that affect rock pigeon (columba livia gmelin, 1789) (aves: columbidae) in Qena, Egypt

The study was conducted to identify some different helminth parasites infecting Rock pigeons in Qena province. The gastro-intestinal tracts of 32 specimens of pigeon (Columba livia) were dissected parasitologically for detect helminthes infection. Of these, 11 (34.3%) were infected by 3 species of helminths, comprising 2 species of cestodes and one species of common nematodes Ascaridia columbae 8 (25%), The infection with cestode species was 5(15%) in the two families Dilepididae Dilepis undula Schrank,1788; and Anoplocephalidae Atriotaenia minuta n. spp.

Differential response of rice to organics and mineral nitrogen on growth parameters, yield attributes and yield in an ustifluvents soil

Introduction: Field experiments were conducted for two years in sandy clay loam soil to study the effect of organic sources and mineral nitrogen on growth parameters, yield attributes and yield of rice. The treatments consisted of addition of different organics viz., composted coir pith (CCP), green manures (GM), sugarcane trash compost (STC), vermicompost (VC), poultry manure (PM) and FYM applied at 100% RDN and combination of above organics @50% N and urea@50%N besides 100% RDN as urea and control.

Effects of instructional strategies on high school students in mathematics: West-Gojam zone, Ethiopia

This study was designed to examine the possible effects of instructional strategies on mathematical discourse. The effectiveness, retention, application and the usefulness of teacher-centered instruction were in question. To obtain data, questionnaire, classroom observation, and semi-structured interviews were used. A total of one hundred fifty-six teachers and five hundred sixteen students from the entire sample schools were selected using simple random sampling technique for the questionnaire and classroom observation. Twenty teachers and thirty-five students were interviewed.

Nutritional habits, comorbidities, quality of life and acceptance to hemodialysis treatment

Objective: To analyze the perception of patients with Chronic Renal Disease related to hemodialytic treatment. Method: This is a qualitative, descriptive and exploratory study developed with nine patients on hemodialysis treatment followed in a renal clinic. The data collection took place in March and April of 2017 through a characterization questionnaire and focused interview. The data were submitted to thematic analysis. Results: There were three categories: the sodium and Chronic Renal Disease; Diabetes Mellitus in chronic renal patients and patient acceptance of hemodialysis.
