Use of pet-ct in radiotherapic gliomas planning

The use of positron emission computed tomography in radiotherapy planning has increased over the last decade. In this study, we analyzed, through a bibliographic research, the use of positron emission computed tomography examination in radiotherapy of gliomas. The research was conducted from October to November 2017, in the databases of "VHL", "Science Direct", "Pubmed" and "Web of Science", through the married descriptors: Positron Emission Tomography Computed Tomography OR pet AND Radiotherapy AND Planning and was constituted of 14 articles published in the period from 2013 to 2017.

Morphological defects of sperm in patients with normal sperm count

Sperm morphology is an important factor in analyzing male infertility. The assessment of the percentage of spermatozoa having an ideal morphology is done according to the WHO laboratory manual for semen analysis. Aim: To study the morphological defects of sperm with normal sperm counts. Materials and Methods: It is a prospective study. 86 cases with normal sperm count were included in the study. Morphology was analysed on Papanicolaou stained smears. The defects were categorized into: Head defects, neck defect, mid piece defect and tail defects.

Antibacterial Efficacy Of Calcium Hydroxide And Chlorhexidine Against Enterococcus Faecalis–A Systematic Review

Aim: To compare the antimicrobial efficacy of calcium hydroxide and chlorhexidine against E.faecalis. Material and Method: MEDLINE, the Cochrane library, Google Scholar and major journals were searched for studies from 1st Jan 2006 to 31st July 2017 to identify appropriate articles. A comprehensive search was designed, and the articles were independently screened for eligibility by two reviewers. In vitro studies comparing antimicrobial efficacy of calcium hydroxide and chlorhexidine against E.faecalis were considered for review.

Characterization of thyroid gland abnormalities using ultrasonography and radionuclide scintigraphy

The main aim of this study was to evaluate the thyroid abnormalities using ultrasound and scintigraphy. Methods: A The study population consisted of 173 patients were seen by surgeons and medical doctors , were diagnosed clinically as having thyroid issues, and referred to Nuclear Medicine and Radiology Department, Fujairah hospital for thyroid scintigraphy and neck ultrasound during the period from Jan 10, 2016 to June 30, 2018. All patients Thyroid function test were done before coming to radiology department. So all results were comparing with the thyroid function tests (TFT) results.

Lymphedema: Recent Advancements In Physiotherapeutic Management

As medical treatment for lymphedema, combined physical therapy with guidance regarding daily living is commended. Recently, training has been conducted on a nationwide scale, and this therapy has gradually and commonly been employed. This therapy consists of daily living guidance to prevent edema deterioration, skin care, manual lymph drainage, compression therapy, and exercise therapy. The number of hospitals in which all procedures can be adequately performed is limited. There is no treatment to completely cure lymphedema.

Multi professional team and regulation: an interface required at sistema único de saúde

Objective: To understand how the multiprofessional team acts in the regulation of health in a Brazilian capital, highlighting the difficulties faced, in front of the technical management of the regulation in public health. Methodology: An exploratory descriptive study of a qualitative way, through a semi-structured interview, applied in fifteen professionals working at the SUS regulation. The data were analyzed using the Bardin technique.

Recent Advances In The Management For Cancer Related Pain

The incidence of breast cancer has stabilized over the past 10 years, while death rates have declined. Thus, many women are living with long-term effects of breast cancer, including pain syndromes relating to breast cancer. As our understanding of these types of pain syndromes improves, delivery of care to this population becomes paramount. In this review, we discuss advances in rehabilitation and interventional pain management to improve pain and symptom management.

Evaluation of serum lipid profile in premalignant lesions/conditions and oral cancer patients

Changes in lipid profile have been associated with malignancy because of their key role in the maintenance the integrity of the cell membrane. This study evaluated the alterations in serum lipid profile in premalignant lesions/conditions cases and proven cases of oral cancer with respect to healthy controls. Decrease in serum total cholesterol, triglycerides, HDL, LDL, VLDL in the subjects with premalignant lesions/conditions and oral cancer as compared to the controls was statistically significant.
