Introduction: Thyroglossal cysts (KTT) are congenital malformations due to lack of resorption of the trunk connecting the base of the tongue to the Lalouette pyramid. Objective: To analyze the epidemiological, clinical and therapeutic profile of thyroglossal cysts in Guinea. Methodology: From 2010 to 2016, we conducted this retrospective study, involving 18 cases of KTT, operated in the ENT department of Donka University Hospital. Results: The average age was 05 years, with extreme ages of 04 years and 13 years, a sex ratio of 1.18.

ENT entoscopy at the kankan regional hospital

Introduction: Endoscopy is a means of investigation and therapy in ENT. The purpose of our study was to evaluate its indications and results of endoscopy in the ENT department of the Kankan Regional Hospital. Methodology: This was a retrospective descriptive study lasting three (3) years from January 2015 to December 2017. Our variables were epidemiological, clinical, diagnostic, therapeutic and progressive. Results: During these three years, 372 endoscopies were performed. Male predominance was observed (70%) with a sex ratio of 2.33.

Variations in the prevalence of isolated human papillomavirus genotype in cervical cancer specimens: a review

The uterine cervix represents a pathologically important part of the uterus because of the high prevalence of cervical cancer worldwide. The epithelium of the cervix can be infected by sexually transmitted oncogenic types of human papillomavirus (HPV). These virus cause persistent infection of the cervical epithelial cells and this leads to viral cytopathic changes associated with atypia (koilocytic atypia) in the infected cells. This is referred to as squamous intraepithelial lesions which can be low grade or high grade depending on the severity of koilocytic atypia.

Objective: To analyze the functional capacity of hypertensive elderly assisted in the Family Health Strategy. Method: Descriptive, cross-sectional, quantitative research with 359 hypertensive elderly patients. Knowledge and barriers to uptake of cervical cancer screening among women at koginga fish landing site in homa bay county, Western Kenya

Background: Cancer of the cervix remains a major public health problem among women worldwide especially in developing countries and in Kenya, there are about 2,454 new cases and 1,676 annual deaths. The potential areas of new cases include fish landing sites, where there are high prevalence of sexually transmitted diseases due to promiscuity. However, knowledge and barriers to cervical cancer screening in the fish landing sites have not been assessed despite the vulnerability of the population.
