Comparative electromiographic analysis of convensional abdominal exercise with gymnastic ball

The aim of this study is to compare abdominal exercises using conventional gymnastic and the abdominal ball. The intensity of each abdominal exercise is analyzed through electromyography. The muscles analyzed were: rectus abdominis and external obliquus. One of the factors that help mainten a good posture is the stabilizing of the trunk muscles, known as "CORE".

Situation malaria in a municipality of the legal amazon: an epidemiological analysis of candeias do jamari in rondônia, 2012-2016

This research aimed to describe the epidemiological profile of malaria in the municipality of Candeias do Jamari, State of Rondônia, Brazi in the period 2012 to 2016. This is an epidemiological study, descriptive and exploratory, with bibliographic and documentary methods, using secondary, retrospective data and quantitative approach, carried out by collecting information from the Epidemiological Surveillance System information Malaria municipality of Candeias do Jamari.

Oral manifestations in patients with liver diseases a prospective observational study at a tertiary health care center in India

Background: Liver is a vital organ. It serves the function of metabolizing drugs and most substances consumed by us. Liver also is the site of synthesis of various clotting factors. Liver maybe affected by a variety of conditions such as Hepatitis, Jaundice, Cirrhosis, Hepatocellular carcinoma and liver failure. Diseases of the liver also affects the appetite, digestion and immunity of the entire body. Oral health may also be adversely affected due to various liver diseases.

Association between the nutritional profile of macronutrients and their relationship with hypertension, diabetes and obesity in the elderly

Many functional and metabolic disorders found in elderly population are resulting from poor eating habits and, therefore, they are considered a group of risk and vulnerability as it concerns the nutritional aspects. Thus, this study aimed to evaluate the correlation of hypertension, diabetes and obesity against the consumption of macronutrients in a population sample of elderly in a Brazilian city. This is an exploratory research, qualitative and quantitative approach, carried out in an interior of the municipality of Bahia, with 795 elderly individuals.

Introduction & Background: Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) is a chronic inflammatory systemic disease of unknown etiology with a variety of extraarticular manifestations including fatigue, subcutaneous nodules, lung involvement, pericarditis, peripheral neuropathy, vasculitis, and hematologic abnormalities including anaemia. Anemia in rheumatoid arthritis is common and multifactorial. We studied the prevalence, type of anemia and its correlation with disease activity in Indian patients in a tertiary care hospital.

A case of extrapulmonary lymph nodes tuberculosis in a hemodialysis patient

There was described a case of extra pulmonary lymph nodes tuberculosis in a type 2 diabetes mellitus chronic hemodialysed (HD) patient, with hepatitis B virus. The association of these comorbiditieshasraised therapeutic controversy. The signs and symptoms and also, thebiopsy and imaging investigations were initially interpreted as sarcoidosis and treated accordingly. Unfavorable clinical evolution under corticosteroids decided reevaluating the histological sections, which were positive for the diagnosis of tuberculosis.

Evaluation of knowledge of nurses regarding complications related to mechanical ventilation

The aim of this study was to evaluate nurses' knowledge about complications related to mechanical ventilation. It is a descriptive, exploratory and quantitative approach, elaborated from the data collection structured by a questionnaire with nurses of a tertiary-level hospital in the city of Fortaleza / Ce, from February to July 2017. The results were submitted to simple regressive statistics using the Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS) 20.0.

Prinzmetal angina: case rare of double coronary spasm

Unlike typical angina, which is often triggered by exertion or emotional stress, Prinzmetal’s angina almost always occurs when a person is at rest, usually between midnight and early morning. These attacks can be very painful. Prinzmetal’s angina is rare, representing about two out of 100 cases of angina, and usually occurs in younger patients than those who have other kinds of angina.
