Evaluation of insulin therapy education in diabetic patients accompanied in a specialty center

Introduction: Insulin therapy for glycemic control, in addition to its indication for DM1, is increasingly being detected as a treatment option for DM2. This work aims to identify flaws in the process of automatic insulin application aiming to assist in learning and reducing consequences for erroneous practice, improving the quality of life of patients.

Use of barbatimão (STRYPHNODENDRON ADSTRINGENS) in the treatment of odontogenic cervical necrotizing fasciitis: A case report

Childhood pneumonia and factors associated with the causes of hospital readmission

Objective: To identify factors associated with the causes of previous hospitalization of children with pneumonia. Methods: Cross-sectional, quantitative, analytical study, realized in a pediatric hospital in Ponta Grossa, Paraná, Brazil. Children between zero and 12 years old, hospitalized for pneumonia in the months of May to September 2015 were investigated about previous hospitalizations.

Importância da educação em saúde na assistência pré-natal com ênfase na toxoplasmose: revisão integrativa

O pré-natal é estritamente necessáriona preparação da mulher para se tornar mãe, sendo através das consultas e ações de educação em saúde, desenvolvidas no âmbito da Estratégia Saúde da Família, que a gestante é preparada quanto ao desenvolvimento de sua gestação e o estado do bebê. Objetivou-se apresentar a importância da educação em saúde na assistência pré-natal enfatizando a toxoplasmose, a partir de dados relatados na literatura científica.

Maternity, graduation and profession: profile of women from the perspective of psychodrama

The present study is to identify the profile psychosocial participating women psychodrama group in the context of a Brazilian city, the regally the Alto Paranaiba, State of Minas Gerais. It is a cross-sectional field research, of an interventionist nature, with a qualitative approach, which apprehended the description of the psychosocial profile of university women participating in a psychodramatic psychotherapy group. Having the research approved according to the CAAE number: 96025118.2.0000.5495 by the Research Ethics Committee of the University of Franca.

Discurso dos enfermeiros a respeito das estratégias de controle da tuberculose em homens idosos

Objetivo: Analisar o discurso a partir das marcas identificadas nas falas dos enfermeiros a respeito das estratégias de controle da tuberculose realizadas em homens idosos na Atenção Primária à Saúde. Método: Estudo qualitativo, desenvolvido com 04 enfermeiros assistenciais atuantes na Estratégia de Saúde da Família, entre os meses de maio e julho de 2018, no município de João Pessoa - Paraíba, Brasil. Os dados foram coletados por meio de entrevista semiestruturada e analisados de acordo com os preceitos da Análise de Discurso, linha francesa.

Prevalence of intestinal parasitoses: in children aged 1 to 5 years in a public laboratory in a city in SouthWestern Bahia

Objective: To determine the prevalence of intestinal parasite infections in children aged 1 to 5 years in a public laboratory in Southwest Bahia. Methods: A descriptive and cross-sectional research was carried out in the city of Vitória da Conquista, located in the State of Bahia, from January to June 2019. Data from the results of laboratory tests of children aged 1 to 5 years were collected. Descriptive analyzes with frequency distribution and central tendency measurements were performed using the Excel 2010 program.

Frequent ingestion of animal fat and risks associated with consumption

Meat and meat products have high consumption rates in world population. Many of these products have a high content of fats that contribute to their sensory characteristics, but if consumed in excess they are associated with development of obesity, metabolic process, cardiovascular diseases, among others. Aim of this work was to quantify total lipid content in products derived from cured meat products, to correlate them with health problems associated with their consumption.

Neonates hospitalized due to Covid -19 in pará, amazon region of Brazil: a case series

Introduction: The novel coronavirus pandemic has specific outcomes according to the age group infected; however, perinatal and clinical data on neonates with COVID-19 pneumonia are still limited. Methods: Retrospective analysis of maternal data and clinical, laboratory and image characteristics of five newborns with COVID-19 confirmed by the Reverse TranscriptionPolymerase Chain Reaction of pharyngeal swab. Information was obtained from electronic medical records. Data analysis was performed using SPSS (Statistical Package for the Social Sciences) version 25.0.
