Introduction: The purpose of this study is to estimate the prevalence of obesity among students attending private secondary schools in Brazzaville and identify factors that contribute to weight gain. Methods: This was a cross-sectional, descriptive and analytical study of 1030 students in private schools. Data analysis was performed using Epi Info7 and SPSS 2.2 software. Pearson's Chi2 test, varied and multi-varied uni logistic regression were used. Results: among the 1030 students who responded to the questionnaire, 15.3% were overweight, and 5.1% were obese.

Vancomycin and cephalosporin use as a first choice of antimicrobial therapy in neonatal intensive care unit: impact on a late-onset sepsis

Background: late-onset sepsis continues to be an important cause of morbidity and mortality and appropriate antibiotic treatment is one of the cornerstones of successful treatment. The aims of this study were: to evaluate the rate of late onset sepsis, risk factors for disease and pathogenic micro-organisms isolated in one neonatal intensive care unit were compared following a change in antibiotic policy. Methods: the comparison was performed between three time periods: A (Sept 2010 to Aug 2011), B (Dec 2011 to Nov 2012), C (May 2013 to Apr 2014).

Adolescent health: the role of the nursing professional in adolescent health care

To point out the main activities performed by nurses through health care programs. An integrative literature review was performed in the Virtual Health Library (VHL), based on studies between 2008 and 2013 that used the descriptors: Adolescence; Primary Health Care; Adolescent Health. Through the analysis of the selected studies, two themes were selected that synthesized the production studied: health care to the adolescent and its biopsychosocial impact; and the role of nurses in adolescent health.

A study on mediation, moderation and structural equation modeling

Mediation analysis is a statistical tool used to study how the effect of an independent variable on an ending is transmitted through a mediator. A moderator is a variable that transform the sign or strength of the effect of an independent variable on a dependent variable. To test single mediator model Structural Equation Modeling is used and also to estimate the rapport between multiple mediator, outcome and the moderator. This article gives an idea of meditation and the review is based on the book of statistical mediation and authors perceptive.

Mapping of information technology risks in the judiciary tocantinense

Managing an Information Technology (IT) environment and keeping it secure is not a simple task. Corporate networks and their assets are subject to various attacks, which can compromise computers, servers, and programs, causing disruption to critical services. This reality increasingly requires organizations to cope with the uncertainties and risks inherent to security in the field of information technology.

Development of an online course about postural care with the newborn in the neonatal intensive care unit

Objective: To describe the process of construction of a distance course on the postural care with newborns in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. Method: Research of the methodological development type, carried out between September 2018 and June 2019. The construction process involved the development of the Virtual Learning Environment, based on instructional design and prior literature survey through a scope review. Results: The search returned 58 studies, being six selected for the review. In the ideation stage, no specific course for the postural care was found.

Lipid accumulation product index predictor tool insulinic resistance undiagnosed in adolescents girls

Objective: To evaluate the predictive capacity of the lipid accumulation product in the detection of insulin resistance in female adolescents. Methods: A cross-sectional study was carried out with 113 adolescents from public schools, aged 10 to 19 years. The anthropometric, sociodemographic, hemodynamic and biochemical variables were evaluated. The waist height ratio, waist hip ratio and lipid accumulation product were determined through protocols described in the literature. The presence of insulin resistance was determined through HOMA-RI, using a cut-off point =3.16.
