Impact of plastics on human health and environment

Plastic is a kind of material that is commonly well known and used in everyday life in many forms. Plastic pollution where in plastic has gathered in an area and has begun to negatively impact the natural environment and create problems for plants, wildlife and even human population. Often this includes killing plant life and posing dangers to local animals. Plastics contain many chemical and hazardous substances such as Bisphenol A (BPA), thalates, antiminitroxide, brominated flame retardants, and poly- fluorinated chemicals etc.

The belo monte hydroelectric plant and the epidemiological profile of malaria in the population of Altamira City– Pará –Brazil

The Belo Monte Hydroelectric Power Plant is the most controversial construction in Brazil, due to the great environmental and social impact for the population living in its area of influence. Despite the requirements for the entrepreneur to execute the Basic Environmental Plan and the health determinants, which are aligned with local public policies, so far the impacts have not been adequately mitigated.

Salicylic acid application alleviates the salt stress effects in wheat

The alleviative effect of salicylic acid (SA) on growth and physiological parameters of two wheat verities under salt stress was studied at greenhouse condition in 2016. The experimental treatments were arranged as factorial based on a RCBD with 4 replications. Salinity stress comprised of three levels of control, 4 and 8 dS/m and the salicylic acid treatments were control (without salicylic acid) and 1 mM salicylic acid application. The experiment was carried out on two varieties of wheat (Tabasi, salinity sensitive and Arvand, salinity tolerant).

Surfactant application on growth characteristics of onion (crystal white var.) under saline water irrigation condition

Successful management of saline water could have significant potential for agricultural development inmany areas, particularly in water-scarce regions. The experiment with a factorial arrangement for treatments was conducted based on a randomized complete block design with four replications at the Research Greenhouse of California State Polytechnic University, Pomona in 2016. Two levels of salinity were employed in the irrigation water during the growth period which maintained the electrical conductivity (EC) of soil at: 0 (control), and 4 dS/m.

Effect of types and dosage of lamtoro leaf, gamal leaf and kandang ayam leaf fertilizer on growth and results of caisin green palm plant (Brassicajuncea L)

Caisim green mustard plant (Brasiccajuncea L) has been known by the East Timorese people. This plant is a horticultural commodity that is much favored by the community starting from the upper class to the lower classes. because it has the most delicious taste compared to other mustard types. Chemical and biochemical studies of relation of tumor necrosis factor gene-polymorphism in hepatocellular carcinoma patients

Background: Tumor necrosis factor-alpha (TNF-α) encodes a proinflammatory cytokine that is secreted primarily by macrophages and plays critical roles in the pathogenesis of inflammatory autoimmune and malignant diseases. (TNF-α) expression may disturb immune response and may be associated with HCC risk. Objectives: To verify the role of Tumor necrosis factor-alpha gene −308G > A polymorphism in Hepatitis C virus related hepatocellular carcinoma in Egyptian patients.

Germination of corn seed persevered in oxygen depleted minienvironment

Two corn seed samples of moisture content 11.7% and 13.2% were preserved in an air oxygen depletion minienvironment, with volume concentration <2%, control samples of moisture content 11.7 % was preserved in natural atmosphere at oxygen concentration of 20.9%. Germination of the seeds was periodically examined during the preservation, at 0, 3, 6, and 9 months. The obtained test results showed that the germination, the normal and the growth of young trees, were dependent mainly on the oxygen concentration and moisture content during 9 month storage.
