Lymphedema: Recent Advancements In Physiotherapeutic Management

As medical treatment for lymphedema, combined physical therapy with guidance regarding daily living is commended. Recently, training has been conducted on a nationwide scale, and this therapy has gradually and commonly been employed. This therapy consists of daily living guidance to prevent edema deterioration, skin care, manual lymph drainage, compression therapy, and exercise therapy. The number of hospitals in which all procedures can be adequately performed is limited. There is no treatment to completely cure lymphedema.

Multi professional team and regulation: an interface required at sistema único de saúde

Objective: To understand how the multiprofessional team acts in the regulation of health in a Brazilian capital, highlighting the difficulties faced, in front of the technical management of the regulation in public health. Methodology: An exploratory descriptive study of a qualitative way, through a semi-structured interview, applied in fifteen professionals working at the SUS regulation. The data were analyzed using the Bardin technique.

Recent Advances In The Management For Cancer Related Pain

The incidence of breast cancer has stabilized over the past 10 years, while death rates have declined. Thus, many women are living with long-term effects of breast cancer, including pain syndromes relating to breast cancer. As our understanding of these types of pain syndromes improves, delivery of care to this population becomes paramount. In this review, we discuss advances in rehabilitation and interventional pain management to improve pain and symptom management.

Evaluation of serum lipid profile in premalignant lesions/conditions and oral cancer patients

Changes in lipid profile have been associated with malignancy because of their key role in the maintenance the integrity of the cell membrane. This study evaluated the alterations in serum lipid profile in premalignant lesions/conditions cases and proven cases of oral cancer with respect to healthy controls. Decrease in serum total cholesterol, triglycerides, HDL, LDL, VLDL in the subjects with premalignant lesions/conditions and oral cancer as compared to the controls was statistically significant.

Alternative One of the main elements responsible for influencing athletes' lives is health. Mouth problems such as temporomandibular joint disorders (TMD), periodontal disease, occlusion disease and dental losses can variation of performance and even distance from athletes in training and competitions. Oral diseases can directly interfere with the general health of the individual as can be observed in different studies. The objective of this literature review is to report and evaluate through a systematic review the importance of oral health in sports practice.

Adolescence is defined as period of transition between childhood to adulthood that involves biological, cognitive and socioemotional changes. Adolescence is a most vulnerable age for development. This stage requires intensive readjustment to education, social and family life. The discrimination and differentiation on the basis of gender is leading crisis in adolescence. Well being is connotative as a harmonious satisfaction of once desire and goals. Psychological well being plays a central role in the emotional and cognitive development of the human beings.

Temporal Abscess Complicating Otomastoiditis: Another Presentation Of Kawasaki Disease

Incomplete and atypical forms of Kawasaki disease increasingly pose a diagnostic challenge. We report a case of atypical presentation of Kawasaki disease with otomastoiditis complicated by temporal abscess and review the literature of this topic. A 4-year-old boy, presenting with Kawasaki disease, was treated with intravenous immunoglobulin and discharged after a week-long hospitalization. He presented with recurrence of fever and an acute evolving left temporal swelling. Computed Tomography scan showed left otomastoiditis with collection and infiltration of the temporal area.

Indigenous Knowledge Early Warning Signs For Flood Disaster Risk Reduction In Kaduna Town, Nigeria

This paper unveils how indigenous knowledge is employed in the prediction of flood disaster prevalence in Kaduna Town, Nigeria. The study adopts a qualitative phenomenological case study approach as it relates to the floodplain resident’s experiences. The data for the study was collected through semi-structured interviews (n-30) conducted with the residents of the floodplain of Kaduna Town. The generated data was imported into Nvivo 11 qualitative data analysis software for the purpose of coding.

An Analysis Of Physical Performance Of Footballers And Sprinters Among The School Boys

The purpose of the study was to analysze the physical performance of footballers and sprinters among the school boys. To fulfil this purpose a total of 30 Footballers and Sprinters age ranged from 14-19 years, were selected from the schools of Fatehgarh Sahib district. Speed, explosive strength and cardiovascular endurance were elected as the physical variable in the study. Speed was measured with the help of 20 Meter dash, Explosive Strength was measured by Standing Broad Jump and Cardiovascular Endurance was measured by 6 Minutes Run & Walk Test.
