To evaluate the efficacy of ksharasootra on piles

Arsha is included in Ashta –mahagada Arsha occurs in gudabhaaga, which is undoubtedly a marma and it is well known for its chronicity and difficulty to treat. Arsha comes under the heading of Maharogas due to its Dirghakaalanubandhi, Dush chikitsya nature and involvement of marma. Hence, this problem was selected for scientific study. Hence assessment of kshar sootra karma on piles. patients were treated with ksharasootra karma mentioned in rasakamadhenu. Total effect of therapy showed excellent results. Maximum drugs were Laghu, Ruksha and Teekshna in properties.

Combined use and comparison of local anaesthetic and analgesics epidurally in operative and post-operative pain management

With a noble intention to reduce postoperative pain of our patients in the study “Combined use and comparison of local anaesthetic and analgesicsepidurally inoperative and post-operative pain management” was carried out at the department of Anaesthesiology, KPC medical college and hospital, Kolkata, to observe potency and duration of analgesic action of these drugs when administer epidurally along with local anaestheticdrug and comparative study in between them.

Construction of an educational booklet about peripheral venipuncture

The purpose of this study was to construct an educational booklet to help nursing students about peripheral venipuncture. This is a methodological research, developed from March to May 2017. The booklet, entitled “Peripheral Venipuncture. Learn More!”, was organized with easy-to-understand information comprised by 23 informative and illustrated pages. The information included in the booklet intends to clarify doubts regarding the Peripheral Venipuncture procedure (PVP), from the preparation of the material used to the procedure itself.

Patient safety: fall risk in hospital intervention units

Objectives: to identify the risk of falls in hospitalized patients in open hospitalization units; to compare the risk of falls among different open hospitalization units; to classify patients regarding the risks of hospital stay. Method: cross-sectional, quantitative study using Morse Fall Scale (MFS). A total of 105 individuals participated. The data were submitted to statistical analysis with the aid of the Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS) version 18.0, presented in absolute and relative frequencies, mean and standard deviation.

Activity assisted by dogs in the treatment of children with autism spectrum disorder - a comparative study under the perspective of the parents

Introduction: The treatment of autism spectrum disorder, due to its difficulty in diagnosis through clinical exams, presents challenges regarding the inclusion and maintenance of treatment procedures and effective therapies. Objective: The study aims to apply a checklist to the parents of autistic children in two moments in order to evaluate the effectiveness of the Assisted Activity by Dogs in addition to other treatments for autism given to their children. Methodological Path: This is a quantitative-qualitative research of a comparative nature.

The increase in body weight through the consumption of saturated fats can trigger the onset of chronic non-communicable diseases, metabolic syndrome and insulin resistance. Thus, this study aimed to evaluate the feeding behavior and the physiological changes in fatty tissues of rats after hyperlipidemic diet. 8 Wistar rats were divided into two groups: Control Group, with a standard diet and Intervention Group, with a hyperlipidemic diet.

Background: Labour pain is the pain and discomfort associated with the contraction of uterus during labour.1 In most labour room it is a common sight that the mothers shout, keep their bodies rigid and start pushing before the cervix is fully dilated, this leads to early rupture of membrane as well as prolonged and complicated labour which affect the condition of the infant at birth. During labour when the women are instructed they are not able to follow instructions because they experience pain.

The behavior of nurses before the intensive care units when keeping vital functions of organs and tissues of potential donors in two public hospitals

Objective: To examine the actions taken by nurses of Intensive Care Units (ICUs) in keeping the vital functions of potential donors of organs and tissues. Method: This is a descriptive and exploratory study with a quantitative approach performed with 36 nurses who work in Intensive Care Units (ICU) at the Hospital of Restoration (HR) and Hospital Getulio Vargas (HGV), two public hospitals in the city of Recife (PE), Brazil. Data were collected through a semi structured instrument made by the researchers.
