Fuzzy inventory model for time dependent deteriorating items with lead time stock dependent demand rate and shortages

In this paper a deterministic fuzzy inventory model for time dependent deteriorating items with lead time and stock dependent demand rate has been developed. The ordering cost, deterioration cost, holding cost and shortage cost are assumed as triangular fuzzy number. In this model shortages are allowed during the lead time and completely backlogged. An economic order quantity (EOQ) has been obtained. The derived model is illustrated by a numerical example.

Menopause and its association with metabolic syndrome

Development of Metabolic syndrome MS in Menopause occur due to hormonal changes, but age has added influence .The object of the study is to find out association between MS and Menopause. 164 women above 35 years of age to65 years were included in the study to assess the prevalence of MS using National Cholesterol Education Program, Adult Treatment Panel III Three or more criteria. In the study 46% belong to premenopausal women and 64% postmenopausal women.

Prevalence of sleep disturbance among post-menopausal women

Sleep disturbance is one of the sign and symptom encountered in postmenopausal women. It affects the quality of life and may lead to depression in some women. A prospective study conducted on 195 post-menopausal women who attend the Saveetha medical hospital OPD during April 2017 to June 2017, to identify sleep disturbance among them. Post-menopausal women were interviewed with the questions from the validated questionnaire after getting consent from them.

Emergency contraception awareness in reproductive women

Unprotected sexual intercourse lead to unintended pregnancies and unsafe abortions. Emergency contraceptives offer safe and effective emergency intervention. Study included both married and unmarried women of 18 – 40 yrs of age. A pre-validated questionnaire was used regarding knowledge of emergency contraceptive pill and its usage. 17% of the participants are aware of Emergency Contraceptive, 38% participants have knowledge regarding the correct timing of Emergency Contraceptive. 54% of the participants believe that Emergency Contraceptive is effective.
