Bearing stregth of basalt fibre reinforced recycled aggregate concrete

The present article aimed to evaluate the bearing strength of basalt fibre reinforced recycle aggregate concrete with bearing area ratio of 10 and 15. Total ten mixes are taken for experimental work, among them 5 mixes with basalt fibres and 5 other mixes without basalt fibres. The natural aggregate was replaced by the recycle aggregate in the volume proportion of 0,25,50,75 and 100% and the basalt fibres are added to the mixes in the proportion of 4kg/m3.In addition to bearing strength, for all mixes compressive and split strengths are evaluated.

Modeling of a wind turbine driven dfig using variable voltage and variable frequency control for reactive power compensation under grid fault

This paper deals with the issue of the reactive power compensation in micro grid (MG) by changing the voltage based on Wind Turbine Generator driving a Doubly-Fed Induction Generator (DFIG). Wind generators such as the majority of Distributed Generation (DG) systems are sensitive to the disturbances of the voltage.

A comparative study between the rainfall observed in ceará and estimated by the trmm project

The rainfall regime in the Northeast region of Brazil has an irregularity associated with some physical and atmospheric factors that provides a feature specific to it. There are several ways to analyze the rainfall characteristics of a region; one way is statistically analyze the rainfall index to be able to identify the profile of the region. This work presents a statistical approach between the Brazilian northeast, the city of Fortaleza and the TRMM project of NASA is to evaluate and improve the observation of precipitation in the tropics around the globe.

Sfrp 4 as a biomarker for type 2 diabetes mellitus

Recent evidence suggests that type 2 diabetes mellitus is a fast growing disease in world wide. The multiple complications are associated with T2DM.Serum secreted frizzled-related protein 4 (SFRP4) is a biomarker for T2DM. 503 patients with impaired glucose tolerance (IGT) and normal glucose tolerance (NGT) were investigated. Majorityof the patientsbelong to the low socio-economic groups between 40-70 years. These 503 participants, 407 females and 96 were normal females. ECG (Electrocardiogram) parameters were also in the study.

O pacto pelo desenvolvimento social da paraíba como instrumento na implementação de políticas públicas eficientes e efetivas

It intends to reflect and analyze the Pact for Social Development of Paraíba as an instrument that enhances the efficiency and effectiveness of public policies within the State, based on the confirmation of the improvement of social indicators. It addresses, in a general way, the Public Policies and the use of indicators reflecting on the importance of a solidary planning of propositions that are in keeping with the reality. Subsequently deals with the Pact from the legal framework going through all the issues until the criticisms / limits of the idea arrive.

Effects of increasing tidal volume on the mechanics of the respiratory system of healthy rats

Mechanical ventilation is an advanced life support that has as one of its objectives to promote gas exchange. The use of protocols that vary the tidal volume is a practice that aims at maintaining the most stable minute volume, where this mode is cycled upon reaching the predetermined inspiratory tidal volume. In the midst of this context, the question is raised: What are the effects of increased tidal volume on parenchyma and pulmonary mechanics in healthy rats submitted to mechanical ventilation?

Importance of english interaction and its remedies for the engineering college students coming from rural areas

The English communication for engineering students from the problems faced by them during academic as well as professional life and its possible remedies. Most of the students in engineering colleges from all areas. They do possess intelligence necessary for getting admission for higher education but they lag behind in the English communication competence. So, during academics and career they face a lot of problems. To be successful in studies and campus interviews, Group Discussions, it is important to achieve English communication competence.

Facial expression recognition by using modified convolutional neural network (mcnn) and modified gabor filter

Facial expression recognition is an important topic in an image processing and pattern recognition. The expressions work as a mirror for what happened in the human mind, enable individuals to understand what their peers feel. This paper suggest develop a system for recognizing facial expressions, modified Gabor filter has been use for feature extraction, then classifying the facial expressions based on these extracted features by using a modified Convolutional Neural Network (MCNN).

Analysis of data mining evaluation methods’ efficiency

After the data mining algorithm has concluded, the results have to be evaluated. The evaluation will show the used algorithm’s accuracy. The main goal of data mining is to discover hidden patterns in data sets. To achieve this there are different algorithms or methods. The algorithms have to be compared based on the work they have performed on the data sets. There are several statistical-based tests to verify that the differences between the methods are not due to some chance effect.

Binary classification algorithms

The classification is a vital part of the Data mining process. It can be accomplished by different algorithms, divided into various groups. Those groups are based on machine learning techniques such as frequency tables, covariance matrices and other analytical statistical approaches. Each of the presented groups has its own advantages and disadvantages and therefore is applicable to a specific situation. The situation is determined by the objects that need to be classified into separate groups, also called object domains. Significant part of the domain cases is represented by two classes.
