This study aims to develop an interactive e-module of Transformation Geometry based on some principles, e.g. creative, active, systematic, and effective (CASE) as a teaching material to support learning autonomy and student’s competence. In this research and development study includes some steps, e.g. preliminary study, product design and development (model), and product testing and assessment.

An analysis of significant factors in global school rankings

With the rapid development of the education industry and the trend of globalization, World University Ranking has become an important index for educational institutions and students. When students choose which schools they wish to attend, they often refer to the ranking list. Moreover, recruiters have preference for candidates from target schools, which are defined by rankings to some extent. School/university ranking also becomes a catalyst for policy change or administration implementation in a university.

The cases of police deaths in the city of Belém-Pará-Brazil

Police action is critical because it prevents, represses, and neutralizes criminal activities to ensure security. Police mortality in the state of Pará, Brazil, is a worrying factor, since the occurence of such crimes only increase, mainly in the capital Belém. In view of the invisibility of this issue, and of the constant murders that occurred after the death of a police officer, this paper seeks to present and analyze the characteristics of the facts and the number of homicides registered in the 72 hours before and after the deaths of the policemen under study.

Social violence against black women: a literature systematic review

There are still few studies in Brazil on violence against black women, despite being the most affected by this phenomenon, regarding violence against white women. Thus, the present study aimed to discuss the pertinence of research that addresses the race/ethnicity of the black woman, target of violence, and its implications for Public Safety. Based on a systematic review of the literature, we searched for references in the CAPES periodicals from 2003 to 2017, conditioned by the term "violence against black women".

Smart phones user’s brand experience, attachment and loyalty: special focus on Egyptian generation y and z

The main focus of this research is on Egyptian generation Y and Z smart phones user’s brand experience, attachment and loyalty. The main objectives of this study is to test the mediating role of brand attachment between brand experience and loyalty, introduce a new attachment typology and a tailored experiential consumer’s profiles, furthermore to explore the moderating effect of the new typologies both experiential and attachment on the relationships between brand experience, personality, attachment and satisfaction with brand loyalty with special focus on young generations.

Domestic violence profile against women served in a reference center

Objective: to characterize the profile of domestic violence against women attended at a Reference Center. Methods: documentary study, exploratory and retrospective study with a quantitative approach, presenting a sample of 255 tokens corresponding to the period from 2010 to 2016. Data were analyzed in SPSS - version 21, using descriptive statistics of relative and absolute frequency, trend central (average) and dispersion (standard deviation), and the results discussed through literature on the subject.

Municipality management profile in the state of pará (Brazil) under the perspective of an effectiveness index

This article is a result of a research that seeks to present the levels of management effectiveness of the municipalities in the state of Pará, calculated through the Municipal Management Effectiveness Index (MMEI), which is composed of seven sectoral indicators: education, health, planning, management fiscal, environmental, citizen protection and information technology and communication governance. The research is characterized as exploratory and the method adopted is bibliographical and documentary analysis.

Social support and life quality of caregivers of elderly dependents at home

The objective of this study was to identify the social support and your relationship with the life quality of caregivers of elderly dependents at home. It’s a quantitative study, exploratory and descriptive who obtained the participation of 72 caregivers of elderly dependents enrolled in basic health units from a city in the interior of Bahia. The data collect was realized by two instruments: Satisfaction with Social Support Scale (SSSS) and the Life Quality assessment tool, The World Health Organization of Quality of Life (WHOQOL BREF).

An inquiry on strategies to mitigate fake certificates: a case of Tanzania

This paper is about strategies to mitigate fake certificates in Tanzania. Fake certificates have been alarming and the government of Tanzania tried to take some initiatives to solve the respective problem. Previous strategies which traditionally were used by the government to curb the problem; included submission of copy of form four certificate and copy of form 6 certificates of selected applicants to employing authority, rules and regulations such as Standing Orders, despite such traditional technique fake certificates still persists in public sector recruitment.
