The fact that the Nigerian child is faced with psychopathological problems cannot be an overstatement. The paper focuses on depression as one of the psychopathological problems which the Nigerian child has to grapple with. A lot of factors combine to aggravate depression amongst the Nigerian children. Such factors as poverty, unemployment, divorce, diseases, et cetera, are causes of depression in the Nigerian child. Effects of depression on the effective education on the Nigerian child were discussed.

Comparing the new generation world view-2 to hyperspectral image data for species discrimination

Discriminating indicator species in mountainous rangelands is critical for better understanding the condition of the rangeland and their levels of degradation. The objective of this study was to compare whether canopy reflectance spectra, resampled to WorldView-2 and HyMap resolution could discriminate four increaser species representing different levels of rangeland degradation. Canopy spectral measurements were taken from the four indicator species: Hyparrhenia hirta, Eragrostis curvula, Sporobolus africanus, and Aristida diffusa.

Perception of what acts constitute violence against women among adult residents of onitsha metropolis, Anambra state, Nigeria

The purpose of this paper is to examine the perception of the act that most constitutes violence against women among adult residents of Onitsha using a sample of 1,165 respondents that are 18 years and above. Data was collected using questionnaire and focus group discussion. Results indicate that 42.2% of the respondents regarded beating as the act that most constitute violence against women while 59.6% felt beating was the most prevalent in Onitsha. Males and females do not differ in their views about act that most constitute violence against women.
