The aqueous extract of had shown highest total phenolic content (250mg/g), the further assays were carried on active fraction of aqueous that is fractioned ethyl acetate extract. The ethyl acetate extract of C. occidentalis had the most effective total antioxidant activity among the two separated extracts. The IC50 values of the extract and BHT were found to be 60.5 and 60.4 respectively. The ethyl acetate extract of C.
