Study on cyanide determination by pyridine – Pyrazole reagent and its application to evaluate some cyanide contaminated wastewater resources in Hanoi

The Cyanide compounds have been listed as one of the toxic pollutants that are usually released into environment. A study on cyanide analysis has been devised to determine the total cyanide concentration in wastewater. This work determines the concentration of total cyanide in water and wastewater collected in some metal plating factories in Hanoi. The determination of cyanide (simple CN-) is based on the chlorination of cyanide and the subsequent reaction of the product with a mixed solution of pyridine – pyrazolone to form a stable color complex.

An assessment of the public health hazard potential of wastewater use in salad crop production at Umguza irrigation lots

Farmers at Umguza Irrigation Lots practise unrestricted crop production using undertreated wastewater. This presents potential public health risk to producers, vendors and consumers of the produce. The aim of the study was to establish the level of public health risk of wastewater use in unrestricted crop production at Umguza Irrigation Lots. Water samples from the dam, canal and overnight reservoir and vegetables: Lactuca sativa, Brassica oleracea and Solanumlycopersicum were obtained and analysed for physiochemical and microbial characteristics.

Standard cloze: testing receptive and productive skills of language learners in context

Testing has always remained at the core of the language learning because it helps decide the level of the learners. Language Testing has witnessed very significant developments in recent years. This has, in turn, led to a major reconsideration of the way language tests are designed, written, analyzed, administered, scored, and used. World testing bodies, therefore, constantly strive to keep up with such developments so that they can offer more reliable and effective examinations. Wilson Taylor’s cloze test is one such work on the testing of reading ability of the target group.

Agricultural production in the state of rio grande do sul / Brazil: An analysis from the estimation of the cobb douglas production function

Agribusiness plays a very significant role in the economy of the Brazilian state of Rio Grande do Sul because it generates jobs and income in rural and urban areas. The aim of this study was to evaluate the relationship between factors of production and gross output value in farms. Such analysis can underpin policies for maximization of the economic result of agricultural output. Preoperative Celecoxib effect on postoperative pain management in patients undergoingleg surgery: A randomized clinical trial

Background: Preoperative pain management is an important aspect for anesthetists. Using analgesics before the surgery can delay pain feeling and analgesic request by patients. We compared the effectiveness and priority of single dose 400 mg celecoxib, over two doses of 200 mg celecoxib in patients undergoing leg surgery.

Goat foraging activities in rangeland in high catchment zone of Mandrare, Southern Madagascar

The edible forage resources were studied with Ruminants behaviour in the High Bassin zone of Mandrare in Southern Madagascar. Analysing the floristic components and goat foraging behaviour allowed determination of nutritive value, bite rate and preference ratio in rangelands. Sampled areas were monitored to record the floristic formation within calculated parameters such as species quality index, pastoral value and preference ratio.

The contribution of social sustainability on livability of pedestrian streets in Urban settlements: An example of Santa Monica, Los Angles

During the last two decades, social sustainability in communities has become an interested topic among urban scholars and researchers.
