Village savings and loan associations and socio-economic empowerment of vulnerable people in Kamuganguzi Sub-County Kabale, District, Uganda

The study carried out was entitled “Village Savings and Loan Associations (VSLA) and socio-economic empowerment of vulnerable people in Kamuganguzi Sub County, Kabale District. According to UBOS 2018, Kamuganguzi Sub County which was the study area was among the poorest sub counties of Ndorwa County, Kabale District where a total of 3,516 people were food insecure, 769 people had no access to safe water, 691 children (6-17years) were out of school, 1,142 children were involved in child labour and 110 children were currently married.

Percieved chalenges militating against effective implementation of inclusive school practices for pupils with special needs in Akwa Ibom and Cross River State – Nigeria

The study investigated the problems hindering effective implementation of inclusive school practices for person with special needs in public primary schools in Akwa Ibom and Cross River State of Nigeria. Two research questions and three research hypotheses guided the study. The study adopted descriptive survey design and accidental sampling techniques was used to elicit responses from 40 head teachers and 160 classroom teachers in the two states.

Empowerment strategies and entrepreneurship skill acquisition among hearing impaired school leavers in South-East and South South zone of Nigeria

The study investigated the strategies for sustaining livelihood among hearing impaired school leavers in southeast-south south geo-political zone. To achieve the objective of the study two research questions and hypotheses were formulated. The researcher’s constructed 15 items statement instrument named “Relationship of Selected Empowerment Strategies and Sustaining Livelihood of Persons with Hearing Impaired School Leavers (Rsesslpwhisl)” The instrument was faced and content validated by experts in measurement and evaluation, special education and guidance and counseling.

Growth of the participation of wind energy in the energy-Brazilian energy matrix: an analysis from the regulatory framework

This work presents as its central goal to analyze whether the electricity auctions that occurred between 2009 and 2014 favored the growth of wind energy participation in the Brazilian energy matrix. It aims to evaluate how the new theoretical frameworks of regulation in the electric industry collaborate to increase the search for alternative sources, specifically regarding wind power. It uses Demsetz’s analysis (1968) to discuss the mechanism of operation of public services utility in order to understand the wind power auctions that happened in the analyzed period.

Congenital dental malformation and speech development of pupils in Cross River State, Nigeria

This study investigated the influence of congenital dental malformation and speech development of Pupils in Cross River State, Nigeria. To achieve the aim of the study, three research questions were generated with three corresponding hypotheses to guide the study. Survey research design was used for the study. Simple random sampling technique was used to draw 1200 pupils that serve as sample.

Effect of selected coping strategies on worry oriented academic stress of pupils with visual impairment in schools for the Blind South Eastern States of Nigeria

The study was designed to determine the effect of selected coping Strategies on the worry oriented academic stress of the pupils with visual impairment in school for the blind South Eastern Nigeria. The study was a non-equivalent control group pre-test and post-test quasi experimental design involving two treatments and one control. Multi-stage sampling cluster sampling and random sampling were used appropriately to arrive at the sample.

Historical-sociological analysis of education of the deaf in the municipal network of education of Juazeiro-Ba

This article focuses on a research on the historical-sociological advances about the education of the deaf in Juazeiro-Bahia. The objective of this study is to evaluate the real dimension of education in this city, aimed at the deaf, in order to present a historical panorama of the experiences lived in municipal schools with deaf students enrolled; the profile of teachers and the modalities of teaching directed to the deaf.
