Quality of elderly life in substitute renal therapy: A Review

Chronic Kidney Disease is a general term for changes that can affect the structure of a kidney function, with several causes and several prognostic factors. It is a long-term disease, insidious and most of the time it is asymptomatic. The purpose of this article is to discuss the literature on quality of life therapy in renal replacement therapy. This is a literature review based on the scientific productions related to the theme in the last 10 years.

Occupational exposure of hairdressers to formaldehyde: A cross-sectional study

Objective: The use of formo in brazilian beauty salons is a public health problem. The Brazilian population currently uses the most aesthetic resources to improve their appearance. One of the most used areas are the so-called "beauty salons". These spaces have as main aesthetic treatment the hair care, where mainly women but also men use chemicals to make them more beautiful and desired. Among the chemical products used is the formol that has been causing eczema in hairdressers as well as in customers.

Impact of capital structure on share prices with special reference to the plantation sector in Sri Lanka

Plantation sector has been recognized as an important strategic sector for socio-economic development of countries where this sector plays an important role in their economies. In the Sri Lankan context the plantation sector makes a significant contribution to Gross Domestic Product, foreign exchange earnings, employment and until recently to Government revenue. Hence, it plays a vital role in the economy. Consequently, the producers encounter several issues and challenges in the effort to enhance their profitability and reduce the threat of insolvency.

Children and families living with diabetes mellitus type 1

Objective: To understand the perception of children and family members living with Diabetes Mellitus, Type 1. Method: Data collection by focal group, from October to December, 2016. The participants were four female children, aged between 8 and 12 years old and their parents, who were followed at the outpatient clinic of a university hospital. A structured form was used to identify the disease management, supported by the focus group. This dynamic was driven by a sensitive creative method. Data were examined and interpreted through thematic analysis.

Lectureclass and philips 66: a look about the teaching strategies for academic students

The present paper sought to develop and analyze two teaching and learning strategies used in the classroom. The participants from this experience were 43 undergraduate students, who undertake the subject of Entrepreneurship in the Administration course in Lajeado-RS. The goal is to demonstrate that it is possible to become a more dynamic class in the educational process. For the theoretical basis from this study, it was based on: Libâneo (1994); Freire (1996); Filion& Masseto (2000); Yin (2001); Anastasiou & Alves (2003, 2004, 2006 and 2012); Gil (2012) and Mazzioni (2013).

Effect of reflective journal keeping on the performance of pre-school children in creative activities in kikuyu sub-County, Kenya

There is a shift from the traditional support of education achievement in terms of excellence in knowledge for growing, thriving and surviving to creativity propelled learning. This raises the status of Creative Arts as a school subject for preschool children. Using a quasi-experimental design, out of 34 public preschools in Kikuyu Sub-County, Kenya, five were randomly selected to use in establishing the effect of pre-school teachers’ use of journal keeping as an element of reflective teaching on preschool children’s academic performance in Creative Arts.

Lokadalat as a unique measure of alternative dispute resolution (adr): A boon for litigants

The LokAdalat system is intended to act as a safety valve to relieve the mounting pressure on the courts. LokAdalat is one of the alternate dispute redressal forms to provide qualitative and speedy justice to a common man, thus it means a place of justice for a common man.6LokAdalat has provided an important juristic technology and vital tool for easy and early settlement of disputes. Memory and religion: analysis from the discourse aspects in documents from a higher education adventist institution in Brazil

This article aims to explain if the memory of the Adventist Church has been recalled through the working of its Educational System in Brazil, checking how this happens and if this resumption contributes to the maintenance and to the growth of this religion in that country. One started from the hypothesis that this Educational System works as a space of memory (HALBWACHS, 1990 [1950]) of the Adventist religion in Brazil and boosts the growth of this religion in this country.

Financial statement analysis of OPTCL, BBSR

This work dealt with the financial analysis of a company, OPTCL. The purpose of this thesis was to assess the financial situation of the company in the years between 2012 and 2017, by using various tools of financial statement analysis in order to recommend necessary precaution for company’s economic improvements. The whole work consisted of two parts: theoretical and analytical. The first part described importance and methods of financial statement analysis as well as its users.

Asean integration: students' initial experience in a State Funded University

This study aimed at identifying the different perceptions of the Jose Rizal Memorial State University System during the academic year 2016-2017. Specifically, it endeavored to find out the rating of the availability of the educational services in JRMSU vis-à-vis ASEAN Integration and their degree of agreement on the perceptions of the initial adaptation of ASEAN Integration. The descriptive survey, which is a descriptive method of research, was utilized in the study. The chosen respondents were given equal chance to contribute data in the study through random sampling.
