Generalised multiple bony exostoses in both the jaws-a rare case report with review of literature

In the present Maxillary and mandibular exostoses are common localized overgrowths of the bone. They are benign and are thought to be reactive or developmental in origin. These exostoses need to be accurately distinguished from the other more diagnostically significant lesions, notably from the bony osteomas. The aetiology of exostosis has been investigated by different authors, but no consensus has been reached so far. We are reporting a rare case of multiple exostoses of the maxillary and mandibular jaw bones in 68 year old male patient.

Impact of remedial counseling on psychological modulation of HIV Positive menopausal sex providers: A critical appraisal of status outcome

Objective: To analyse the impact of remedial counseling on stress level of HIV positive menopausal sex providers. Methodology: This interventional study was carried out between 1st October 2015 to 31st December 2017 in Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College, Sawangi (Meghe), Wardha on 236 HIV positive menopausal sex providers belonging to 4 talukas of Wardha district with the help of 2 social workers and 1 clinical psychologist after the approval of institutional ethics committee.

Nursing care based on scientific evidences for women with depression in the primary health care

Objective: To verify if the nursing assistant developed for women with depression in basic care unit in a city in the backland of Bahia is based on scientific evidences. Methodology: The study had descriptive-exploratory nature, with quantitative approach and was conducted in a Family Health Unit in the city of Vitória da Conquista/BA during September. The study sample was composed of 30 medical records of women cared at the Family Health Unit. For the data collection, one used an instrument provided with a pre-established guideline, composed of objective questions.

The importance and the relationship of blood glucose level in the development of atrial fibrillation in coronary bypass surgery in diabetic patients

Aim: Currently, coronary artery bypass graft surgery (CABG) is the most commonly performed open heart surgery. Diabetes mellitus (DM) causes morbidity and mortality in patients undergoing CABG as in other surgeons. In this study, we aimed to explain the relationship between blood glucose level and Atrial Fibrillation (AF) after CABG operations in DM patients. Oncogenic Osteomalacia Associated with Phosphaturic Mesenchymal Tumor of the Thigh: A Case Report

Oncogenic Osteomalacia (OOM) is an uncommon metabolic and bone disease caused by Fibroblast Growth Factor 23 (FGF 23),a phosphaturic factor produced by phosphaturic mesenchymal tumors characterized by phosphate leakage from the kidneys and subsequent hypophosphatemia. We present the case of oncogenic osteomalacia in a 50 year old woman who presented to our hospital with complaint of being unable to walk since 5 years. She had been initially diagnosed with low phosphorus level and treated with oral phosphate powder for 3 years.
