Introduction: The treatment of autism spectrum disorder, due to its difficulty in diagnosis through clinical exams, presents challenges regarding the inclusion and maintenance of treatment procedures and effective therapies. Objective: The study aims to apply a checklist to the parents of autistic children in two moments in order to evaluate the effectiveness of the Assisted Activity by Dogs in addition to other treatments for autism given to their children. Methodological Path: This is a quantitative-qualitative research of a comparative nature.

Objective: To examine the actions taken by nurses of Intensive Care Units (ICUs) in keeping the vital functions of potential donors of organs and tissues. Method: This is a descriptive and exploratory study with a quantitative approach performed with 36 nurses who work in Intensive Care Units (ICU) at the Hospital of Restoration (HR) and Hospital Getulio Vargas (HGV), two public hospitals in the city of Recife (PE), Brazil. Data were collected through a semi structured instrument made by the researchers.

Academic and professional development of graduates from health master programs: integrative literature review

Graduates of health master programs find, in their daily work, situations that confront the competences developed during the course with those required in professional practice. The evaluation of these students can contribute to the adequacy of the programs’ pedagogical structure, besides pointing out the aspects that have positively or negatively impacted their academic and professional education. Fixation of transverse patella fractures using cannulated cancellous screws with anterior tension band wiring

Aim: To evaluate the effectiveness and safety of anterior tension band wiring technique using two cannulatedcancellous screws in patients with transverse (AO34-C1) or transverse with mildly comminuted (AO34-C2) patellar fractures. Materials and Methods: This is a prospective study of 25 patients with transverse fracture or transverse fracture with mildly comminuted patella fractures. All the patients were treated with open reduction and internal fixation using two parallel cannulated screws and 18G stainless steel wire as per the tension band principle.
