Ecological restoration of arid land: a pilot approach in great Rann of Kachchh, Kachchh District, Gujarat, India

The Greater Rann of Kachchh (GRK) is a marshy and highly saline area characterized by flat terrain, harsh climate and ecologically fragile due to very low soil moisture and high soil salinity.  Therefore, an attempt was made on a pilot scale to reclaim the Rann and accelerate the natural recovery process of two bets (upland area), namely, the Kuar and Mori bets. Some traditional techniques of land resource practices were applied for reclaiming the area in year 2001 and 2007.

Identification of the composition of growth hormones in the tuber of dioscoreaalata

The identification of the growth hormones in the D. alata’stuber was conducted to investigate the composition (mg/l) of auxin, gibberellin and cytokinin in the three sectional parts of the D. alata’stuber in order to understand the potential aspects of the other parts of the tuber to be used as the seed. The findings show that the head, middle and tail sections of the D. alata’stuber content at least one growth hormone with the concentration of averagely more than 2.5 mg/l. Auxin was found in all sections with a significant concentration of ~ 2.8 mg/l.

Worrying and real risk for human papilloma virus-induced cervix lesions in cameroonian women: insight in a socioeconomically disadvantaged Muslim region

Cervical cancer is a real public health problem in developing countries especially in socioeconomically disadvantaged populations which are often very difficult-to-reach by health programs and mistrustful about these. We therefore carried out a pilot hospital-based cross-sectional study in the far north region, one of the poorest regions of Cameroon. This aimed at determining the prevalence of cervical pre-malignant and malignant lesions and of some main risk-increasing factors. Socio-demographical and risk factors for cervical abnormalities were documented.

Elastic and elasto-plastic finite element analysis of a tension test specimen with and without voids

Finite Element Analysis (FEA) is an important engineering tool used to assist in approximating and verifying how a component will react under various external and internal loading conditions. The purpose of this master of engineering project is to investigate and analyze fully elastic and elastic-plastic deformation of a High Strength Steel (HSS) tensile test specimen in FEA ANSYS under various conditions. In general, material selection is a key component to engineering analysis.

Effects of anhydrous ammonia application on yield and yield component of sunflower (helianthus annus l.)

The aim of the research was to determine the effects of Anhydrous ammonia application on yield and yield components of sunflower. Field experiment was conducted in Tekirdag at Trakya Region, Turkey during 2014 and 2015. Three different methods was planned. Anhydrous ammonia application (M1), the traditional condition (M2) and the control (M3). Anhydrous ammonia application was made once before the sowing period. At the M2 is the method used by local farmers. No nitrogen fertilization was at the M3 method.

Moments of the time of ruin, penultimate surplus and deficit at ruin under two sided risk renewal process

In this paper we present a concrete method to estimate the moments of time of ruin, surplus immediately before the ruin and deficit at ruin under two way renewal process. Gerber–Shiu discounted penalty function are used to estimate the same. Laplace transform is taken into account while calculating the moment. Furthermore, Lindley distribution is being assumed as the distribution of the claim amount .This approach allows for the experimentation of various distribution forms among the eventual random variables.

Enhancing the performance of migration process using aco algorithm and rsa encryption over cloud environment

Data transfer from one server to another needs a great ontology process in which data from one server to another gets migrated with a protocol service in which three layers are minimum required. In this work, focus on migrating the particular application data. Cloud creates a series of mechanical, architectural and legal challenge that the State of the Art attempts to address. Arrange such efforts into a set of migration scenarios and connect them with a list of reusable results for the application data migration in the form of patterns.

Applying grey system theory for productivity forecasting of vietnamese milk industry – Vinamilk

In this study, we apply Grey System Theory-GM (1, 1) based on the statistics provided by the Vietnam dairy Products Joint-Stock Company (Vinamilk) from 2009 to 2016 and make prediction values for two years, i.e., 2017 and 2018. The results which help enterprises to figure out the target in the near future are shown with low tolerance proven by Mean Absolute Percent Error (MAPE).

The design, dimensioning and optimization of a 1 kva tubular linear alternator

In this study; basically the design of a 1KVA tubular linear alternator has been carried out for a free mechanical piston and internal combustion engine. In the conducted design, the conformity of the optimization data has been examined with finite elements method and the geometrical dimensionings of the designed alternator have been determined with a developed analytical calculation program.

Chemical reaction effects on micropolar nanofluid flow over a mhd radiative stretching surface with thermal conductivity

In this paper, an analysis is presented the effects of chemical reaction parameter variable thermal conductivity and radiation on the flow and heat transfer of an electrically conducting micropolar nanofluid over a continuously stretching surface with varying temperature in the presence of a magnetic field.  The surface temperature is assumed to vary as a power-law temperature. The governing conservation equations of mass, momentum, angular momentum and energy are converted into a system of non-linear ordinary differential equations by means of similarity transformation.
