Character association and component analysis at genotypic level were studied in mutagenised populations (M2) of grasspea land race “Dhenkanal local” following seed treatment with gamma-rays, EMS, NG and their combinations. Seeds/plant emerged as an independent direct yield contributing trait in all treatments except 40kR gamma-rays + 0.2% EMS. In general, number of branches/plant, pods/plant and seeds/plant exhibited very high and significant positive association with seed yield/plant.

Pressure ulceration of the skin is a pervasive problem in health care. The cost of the problem is enormous, both in terms of individual human suffering and in terms of the financial expenses to society. Approximately 60,000 people a year die from complications of pressure ulcers. The epidemiology reveals at least three major at risk groups: (1) the young neurologically impaired patient, (2) the elderly patient, (3) the hospitalized patient. Healthy and mobile individuals make numerous postural adjustments throughout the day to prevent pressure sores from ever developing.

Objective: Retrospective assessment of response rate, clinical outcome and toxicity in head and neck cancer patients treated with induction chemotherapy followed by concomitant chemo radiotherapy. Patients and Methods: From April 2011 till March 2014, we collected the data for patients with locally advanced head and neck cancer who were treatment with 3 cycles of induction chemotherapy using cisplatin and fluorouracil (5-FU), (PF) followed by radiation therapy for a total radiation dose of 66 Gy and concomitant cisplatin at a dose of 100 mg/m2 on days 1, 22, and 43 of radiotherapy.

This study discusses the changing role of government in commercial activities in Kenya since the colonial era. The focus is whether the state played a minimal or greater in commercial activities and the instruments used to achieve the desired role. The study traces and discusses historical events, theories, studies, policies, and institutions used by government to achieve the desirable role. The study is divided into four phases and the findings show that during the colonial era, the state played a major role in commercial activities driven by an expansionist policy.

Many environmental factors, biotic and abiotic interact to influence the organismal development. Organisms respond to environmental stresses with behavioral, physiological or morphological adjustment to counter its effects and maintain normal functioning. In the present study, the high parental density results in offspring with smaller body size compared to offspring from parents that reproduced at lower densities.

This paper discusses the problems that the interest rates of shadow banks under the current Chinese financial system are too high, which is unhealthy to small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), and that the magnitude of the amount of total debts released by shadow banks cannot be measured accurately. In order to support that, this paper collects information of financial data of nine SMEs from one bank and of their connections with shadow banks. The result shows that eight out of nine (88.9%) SMEs have connections with shadow banks.

A field experiment was conducted to study the effect of composted coirpith, composted pressmud, farmyard manure and NPK on soil enzyme activities and nutrient status of post harvested soil of clusterbean.

Thymus Capitatus is a shrub, which is native of the Mediterranean basin. The purpose of this study was to determine the chemical composition and inhibitory effect of essential oil of Thymus Capitatus on the corrosion of mild steel in hydrochloric acid (1M).The essential oil of Thymus Capitatus has been studied using gas chromatography (GC) and GC-mass spectrometry (GC-MS).

This paper reports the influence of annealing temperature on optical and dispersion energy parameters of sol-gel routed spin – coated Molybdenum tri Oxide (MoO3) thin films. The higher annealing temperatures increase the values of dispersion energy parameters.XRD study reveals the formation of α- orthorhombic phase at higher annealing temperature and amorphous nature at lower annealing temperature. The optical band gap of MoO3 film is found to be 3.3 -3.8eV, and the refractive index of the film is found to be 2.2 -2.9.

Aim: To assess the knowledge and practices regarding antenatal assessment among nurses working in obstetric units. Method: A descriptive research was done and data was collected from 60 nurses working in obstetric units of selected hospitals. Structured questionnaire and checklist was used to assess the knowledge and practices regarding antenatal assessment of nurses.
