Background: Street children are predisposed to develop malnutrition and different nutritional deficiencies. Also they are vulnerable to develop  substances abuse of different types. The present study intends to study that aspect of street children.
Aims and objectives: To study the various nutritional deficiencies and substance abuse pattern  in street children.

Spectrum of biochemical abnormalities in neonatal seizures at a tertiary care hospital

Background: Biochemical disturbances occur frequently in neonatal seizures either as an underlying cause or as an associated abnormality. Metabolic disturbances could be more commonly transient and rapidly correctable or less commonly inherited as persistent causes. Objective: To determine the frequency and spectrum of biochemical abnormalities in neonatal seizures of different etiologies.

These uses have made it a well sought after instrument. This work thus examines Africa’s road map for technology acquisition with a view to looking at the way forward. The work notes that Africa is the most affected by the shortage of technology. It accentuates the point that the struggle by African states for technology acquisition is dominated by two approaches, namely; technology transfer and partnership.

Problems of development of strategic plans for secondary schools’ improvement in Anambra state

Background: This study investigated the extent of problems of strategic plans development for secondary schools’ improvement in Anambra State, Nigeria for quality education provision.
Method: The study used a descriptive survey design paradigm. Respondents comprised 217 principals. There was no sampling. All the principals were used. Data were collected using ‘Schools’ Strategic Plan Development Problems Questionnaire’ (SSPDPQ).

Study revealed significant prevalence of depression in the elderly of the countryside

In Brazil, a study conducted with elderly enrolled in the Family Health Unit showed that 52% had depressive symptoms, of which 48% had mild to moderate depression and 4% severe depression. From the perspective of the presence of depressive symptoms, this study aimed to determine the prevalence of elderly indicative of depression, living in the countryside.
