Effects of government regulation in a port in Southern Brazil

This article aims to analyze the effects of government regulation from the experience of the Port of Imbituba, located in the southern region of Brazil. Methodologically, it is a descriptive and exploratory research, adopting the strategy of a case study, with literature review, documentary survey and field research. For the data collection in the field, we conducted in-depth interviews out with the agents that have a relationship with the Port of Imbituba. The nature, types, motives, and functions of swear words: a sociolinguistic analysis

This theoretical paper discusses swearwords. It is based on the data drawn from the wide literature of swearing and taboo language. A sociolinguistic approach was adopted to discuss and analyze various aspects of swearing. This paper aims to identify the nature, types, motives, and functions of swear words. Based on the analysis, this study concluded that there are several and different classification systems of ‘bad language’ and ‘swear words’ and that is due to the fact that the value of ‘badness’ in all languages are constantly changing.

Agroecology as a sustainable alternative to theintensive use of agrocoxics in the Brazilian agriculture

Studies show that Brazil is a world champion in the use of agrochemicals, with 7.3 liters per year for each of the country's inhabitants. Only in the first three months of 2019, the Brazilian government released 121 new pesticides to be sold, totalizing 2,184 licensed products in the country. This work aims to discuss the permissive use of agrochemicals in Brazil and to point out the consequences generated for the ecosystems involved.

Empirical verification of theoretical model between subjective well-being, self-esteem and depression in non-clinical young people

This study aimed to verify a theoretical model in which the subjective well-being construct explains self-esteem and depression in non-clinical Brazilian youth. A sample of 1864 subjects (men and women) aged 12 to 20 years of elementary or higher education from public institutions, in addition to socio-demographic data, responded to the subjective well-being inventory, the self-esteem scale and the depression inventory.

The challenge of becoming teacher at the higher level and the pedagogical practices used in the nursing course

The present work analyzed the pedagogical practice of the university professor, focusing his initial and continued formation in the educational practice as well as to reflect the construction of this practice seeking a relation with the knowledge necessary for a teaching performance. We know that with so many technological advances, we see the need to adapt the professional from the higher level to the everyday life of a globalized society. It was a research of qualitative nature, important references were used to reach the objectives proposed in the work.

Education and spirituality: two important elements to be considered in participative development processes

This present paper presents a study conducted in 2017 and 2018 about the participative development experienced by landless rural workers settled in the Rio Bonito do Iguaçu municipality, in the state of Paraná, in Brazil, from 1996 to 1997. Methodology consisted on studying interviews conducted through Oral History methodology and written sources from the time, such as newspaper articles and official State documents, which were interpreted based on similar research projects and concepts from various theorists.

This study introduces a bibliometric analysis of the Journal of Philosophy of Education, a journal of the field Education and Educational Research which has had presence in the Journal Citations Index (JCR) during the last 20 years. Collaborations between authors, countries and its gender distribution have been analyzed. Low values of Collaborative Index and Degree of Collaboration have been found, compared to other Social Science journals. Geographical collaboration is analyzed, where the network of countries pivots around United Kingdom.

This present extract of the doctoral thesis Field of a memory and regimes of visuality: the criminal subject in Youtube (2019) analyzed the intersections between cinema and discursive social representations of violence in Brazil, through the analysis of the Brazilian documentary Ônibus 174. The theoretical and methodological basis was the philosophical notion of discourse and memory field, as teached by the philosopher Michel Foucault.
